Designing a B2B Crop Trading Marketplace

This project was commissioned as a freelance design engagement to define and prototype a B2B agricultural marketplace connecting farmers and produce traders.
Today, most agricultural wholesale transactions still rely on fragmented phone calls and opaque pricing networks. Farmers often lack visibility into market demand, while traders depend on small, fragile supplier networks that can easily break when supply fluctuates.
I designed a mobile-first MVP that structures key trading signals—pricing, supply availability, quantity, and negotiation states—into a clear and scalable marketplace interface, enabling farmers and traders to discover opportunities, negotiate transactions, and coordinate supply more efficiently.
Agricultural trading is still largely driven by phone calls and messages—making pricing inconsistent, negotiations hard to track, and transactions error-prone.
To reduce friction in phone-based trading, the design focuses on making market signals visible, transactions structured, and negotiations easy to coordinate on mobile.
This design guide follows Google Material 3 and defines color, typography, components, and spacing for the product interface.

The solution structures the core trading journey into four focused areas — onboarding, market browsing, negotiation, and account management — to support fast, data-driven decisions in time-sensitive crop transactions.
In the MVP stage, the design prioritizes making pricing visibility, deal coordination, and transaction records clear and actionable on mobile.
